Swachh Bharat Abhiyan : Reality of Clean India

Today, we have been celebrating the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi as National Hygiene Day for the past three years. Today is the third Anniversary of Sanitation Day. On 2nd October 2014, the 145th year of Gandhi Jayanti, the country’s Prime Minister started the Sanitation Campaign.

There was a lot of enthusiasm in this country. In Mumbai, people rode on the streets. In Delhi and various parts of the country, people used to sweep bogies and publicly cleaned roads, parks and public places including Delhi. Print media wrote large columns, governments tried to make people aware through advertising. Electronic channels Organized programs on cleanliness, in which those who have done good work in this field with dividends were also rewarded. In which celebrities like Vice-President, Prime Minister attended The President arrived in Porbandar on this day. In the campaign of the Indian Government, 150th birth anniversary of Gandhiji on October 2, 2019, has targeted the country to make 1.20 lakh toilets which is estimated to cost 1.96 lakh crore. From this, about 2.50 villages will be left free from defecation.

So far Sikkim, Haryana, Himachal, Uttarakhand and State of Kerala have come under the category of Excessive defecation, whereas Sikkim was a state-ruled state at the beginning of the program. Now the question is that these states are actually free from defecation. Yes, one thing is seen on government figures in which the Sundasudra environment has reached about 38% from about 67%. Now look at the reality that the country is moving towards the free of defects! Gandhi had said on cleanliness that sanitation is more important to independence, cleanliness is only Swaraj.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that clean India is a weapon for the best India. Yes it is absolutely right. Nothing is without cleanliness. But everyone wants to join the cleanliness campaign, but do not want to do it. At first you will be ready mentally, and then India will be clean. Today the situation is that the toilets made for defecation have come up with corruption. The same opinion is still not mentally prepared for cleanliness. It is also believed by Prime Minister Modi that the toilets built and later seen that goats are tied in it. In the cleanliness drive, the government spent on crores of advertisements. But the situation remains the same even today. Then it is not good to criticize it. Because it is a good step to take this forward, every person of the society should join. But not overcrowding will be the situation with the sterilization scheme issued by Varna Indiraji. It requires the government to mentally prepare the people of the country.

The government should understand the need to bring transparency in the construction of toilets. It is very important for the Indians to feel emotionally, physically, mentally, socially and intellectually good. In the school, the curriculum related to it should be taught to the children, due to which it has been aware of the benefits of cleanliness in children from childhood. In real terms, it is important to make good the conditions of living in India, which can be started by adopting cleanliness. Then the dream of Swachh Bharat will prove to be true. This will be a true tribute to Bapuji.
