India Denies Use of Ports by U.S. Military for Strikes on Iran

Amidst the escalating conflict in West Asia, reports surfaced claiming that Indian ports were being utilized by the U.S. military to launch or support operations against Iran. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has officially dismissed these reports as entirely false.
What was the News?
The controversy began following a report by a conservative American media outlet, ‘One America News’ (OAN). The report alleged that U.S. warships were using Indian naval bases, specifically in Mumbai and Kochi, as logistical hubs or launch points for strikes against Iranian targets. These claims cited anonymous “military sources” suggesting a secret operational agreement between India and the U.S.
The Official Statement from the MEA
The Ministry of External Affairs issued a stern clarification to debunk these
Total Denial: The MEA’s official fact-check handle labeled the claims as “completely false, fabricated, and baseless.”
Neutrality: India reiterated its long-standing foreign policy of strategic autonomy. The government clarified that India is not a party to the conflict and does not allow its territory or facilities to be used for military aggression against any third country.
