
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the ‘Ekta Padyatra’ held in Tanakpur on Thursday as part of his one-day visit to Champawat district. The march, organized to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, celebrated the message of national unity and integrity.
The ‘Ekta Padyatra’ began from the Degree College, Tanakpur, and culminated at Gandhi Maidan. Chief Minister Dhami walked alongside a large gathering, spreading the message of national unity, integrity, and self-reliance.
At the Degree College, the Chief Minister paid floral tributes to the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and addressed the public. He said, “Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is a symbol of India’s unity, integrity, and unwavering resolve. His contribution to the freedom movement and the unification of princely states will always be remembered and will continue to inspire generations.”
CM Dhami urged the youth to draw inspiration from Sardar Patel’s life, which reflects dedication, discipline, and commitment to national service. On this occasion, he also administered a collective pledge to the gathering for building a ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat’ (Drug-Free India).
The ‘Ekta Padyatra’ witnessed enthusiastic participation from local youth, NCC cadets, NSS volunteers, students, and representatives of various social organizations. Chanting slogans like ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat’ and ‘Adopt Swadeshi’, the participants carried the message of patriotism and unity.
Responding to the Chief Minister’s call, the public joined in with fervor, creating an atmosphere of national pride and solidarity, making the celebration of national unity even more meaningful.
Earlier in the day, CM Dhami attended the wedding ceremony of the son of Mr. Nirmal Pathak, Editor of PTI Delhi, at Bohraghoth, and blessed the newlywed couple.
Several dignitaries were present during the event, including Minister of State Shyam Narayan Pandey, District Panchayat Chairperson Anand Singh Adhikari, Municipality Chairman Vipin Kumar, Block Pramukh Anchala Bohra, BJP District President Govind Samant, BJP State General Secretary Nirmal Mehra, District General Secretary Mukesh Kalkhudhiya, and other party officials and local leaders. District Magistrate Manish Kumar, Superintendent of Police Ajay Ganpati, Chief Development Officer Dr. G.S. Khati, and Joint Director of Cooperative Department Mangla Tripathi were also in attendance, along with a large number of citizens.
