The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has arrested three individuals allegedly linked to the ISIS terror network, who were reportedly planning a large-scale terrorist attack in India. According to officials, the suspects were in the process of developing a highly toxic chemical substance described as more dangerous than cyanide.
The arrested individuals have been identified as:
1. Dr. Ahmed Mohiddin Abdul Qadir Jilani – resident of Hyderabad
2. Mohammad Suhail Mohammad Suleman – resident of Uttar Pradesh
3. Azad Suleman Saifi – resident of Uttar Pradesh
During the operation, the ATS recovered three pistols, 30 live cartridges, and several hazardous chemical substances believed to be intended for the preparation of a lethal poison. The suspects had also conducted reconnaissance of crowded public areas, indicating plans to target locations with high civilian presence.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the men were in contact with ISIS operatives abroad and were reportedly receiving guidance on how to manufacture the chemical agent. The ATS has stated that the substance being developed had the potential to cause mass casualties if released.
Officials noted that the group had already made “significant preparations” and was in the final stage of planning the attack. Their swift arrest averted a potentially devastating terror incident, authorities said.
Further investigation is underway, including probe into funding sources, overseas handlers, and possible local support networks. The suspects are currently being interrogated, and the recovered chemicals have been sent for forensic analysis.
More details are awaited as the case develops.
