The proposals focused on countering the drug–terror nexus, creating a global repository of traditional knowledge, and accelerating Africa’s skill development reflect India’s vision for a more resilient and inclusive world.
G20 Initiative on Countering the Drug Terror Nexus
In a strong call for collective action, PM Modi proposed a dedicated G20 initiative to combat the growing convergence between narcotics trafficking and extremist networks.
The framework aims to:
Integrate financial, governance and security mechanisms to dismantle the drug terror economy
Strengthen cooperation against the rapid spread of lethal synthetic drugs, including fentanyl
Enhance intelligence sharing and global monitoring systems
PM Modi emphasised that the drug–terror nexus has become a major global threat, requiring coordinated action across borders to protect societies and economies.
Global Traditional Knowledge Repository
Championing India’s civilizational heritage, the Prime Minister proposed the creation of a Global Traditional Knowledge Repository under the G20 platform.
The initiative is designed to:
Preserve, document and share traditional knowledge systems from around the world
Draw strength from India’s vast Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS)
Carry the collective wisdom of humanity to future generations
The repository will focus on sustainable practices, traditional medicine, agriculture, environmental knowledge, and community-based innovations promoting global learning and responsible research.
G20–Africa Skills Multiplier Initiative
Reaffirming India’s commitment to Africa’s development, PM Modi announced the G20–Africa Skills Multiplier Initiative, aimed at accelerating the continent’s skill revolution.
Key features include:
A train-the-trainers model across diverse sectors
A target to prepare 1 million certified trainers in Africa over the next decade
Boosting local capacity, employment and long-term economic development
The initiative underscores India’s belief that equipping Africa’s youth with advanced skills will be central to global growth in the decades ahead.
A Vision for a Stable, Skilled and Sustainable World
Together, the three initiatives reflect India’s holistic approach: addressing global security threats, nurturing shared knowledge, and empowering developing nations through capacity building.
At the G20 Summit, PM Modi reaffirmed India’s commitment to shaping a future where development is inclusive, security challenges are confronted collectively, and traditional wisdom supports sustainable progress.
With these proposals, India has once again positioned itself as a global leader offering practical, forward-looking solutions in an era of complex challenges.
