Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami dedicated the Diwali day to a series of courtesy meetings with senior political figures, reflecting his continued effort to maintain dialogue and goodwill across leadership ranks.
Beginning the day with a visit to former CM Tirath Singh Rawat, Dhami then met former CM Bhuwan Chandra Khanduri to inquire about his well-being. The most notable interaction came when he called on former CM Harish Rawat at his residence, a gesture that drew attention for its message of political inclusivity.
Dhami also met former Union Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, followed by a visit to his political mentor Bhagat Singh Koshyari. He later met Haridwar MP and former CM Trivendra Singh Rawat before concluding the day with a call on Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Ritu Khanduri.
Following his outreach to senior leaders, Dhami met Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal and Uttarakhand BJP President Mahendra Bhatt to discuss organisational matters and coordination ahead of potential cabinet reshuffles.
This pattern of engagement is not new. Dhami has made it a practice to meet senior leaders every festive season, taking their guidance and blessings. In a political landscape often marked by generational divides, his approach highlights a rare blend of respect and consultative leadership among younger chief ministers.
