New Bharat is not just using technology it is now creating it. Indigenous chipsets to drive CCTV networks, data servers, and AI-powered systems across the nation.
In a landmark step towards technological sovereignty, India is now developing its own advanced semiconductor chipsets, designed for high-performance CCTV surveillance systems and powerful server infrastructures. This development reflects a new national confidence where Bharat is moving from being a technology consumer to a technology maker and provider for the world.
The initiative is backed by the Government’s semiconductor mission, mega manufacturing clusters in Gujarat and Karnataka, and strong partnerships with Indian research institutions and startups. These chipsets are being engineered to support real-time video processing, AI-based facial recognition, encrypted data handling, and high-load cloud computing, capabilities critical to national security and digital expansion.
“India’s time has come,” said a senior official from the Ministry of Electronics & IT. “We are not just assembling equipment anymore. We are designing and building the very core of modern technology systems the chips themselves.”
Why This Matters
For decades, global dependency on foreign semiconductor manufacturers has shaped hardware supply, pricing, and strategic control. By developing indigenous chipsets, India is:
Enhancing National Security in surveillance and defense systems.
Reducing Import Dependence and retaining economic value within the country.
Strengthening Digital Infrastructure across governance, finance, and public services.
Empowering Startups & Engineers to create world-class hardware solutions.
These chipsets will soon power:
Smart City CCTV command centers.
Government cloud systems & data networks.
Fintech & defense computing infrastructure.
Telecom and future 6G ecosystem.
Public service digital platforms at national scale.
The first commercial deployments are expected after final testing phases now underway. Once scaled, India will not only meet its own demand but will also emerge as a key global supplier of secure, affordable, and high-performance chipsets.
This moment is more than a technological upgrade –
It is the assertion of Bharat’s technological Aatmanirbharta.
India is not following the world’s progress.
India is shaping it.
