India’s automobile sector witnessed a remarkable festive season boost, with vehicle sales soaring by nearly 35% during Navratri 2025, signaling a strong consumer revival across all segments.
As per industry data, more than 2.17 lakh passenger vehicles were sold during the nine-day festival period, around 55,000 more than the same time last year. The two-wheeler segment too clocked impressive numbers, crossing 8.35 lakh units, an increase of nearly 2 lakh units year-on-year.
Dealers and manufacturers credit this growth to the recent GST rationalization drive, which has made vehicles more affordable and streamlined the supply chain. Improved rural purchasing power, stable fuel prices, and a surge in new product launches have further strengthened consumer sentiment.
Industry insiders now anticipate an all-time high festive season performance, with Diwali sales expected to touch record levels.
At a time when opposition leaders questioned India’s economic health, the auto sector’s performance stands as a clear reflection of Bharat’s resilient economy and the positive impact of structural reforms.
